Each year I have followed the Summer Sampler series, but never took part in any quilt along. Until this year, I changed my mind as soon as I saw the project. I fell in love with the diversity of blocks in the Summer Sampler 2019 and the final quilt design – two different designs to choose from.
There are 21 blocks in the Summer Sampler 2019. All with different sewing techniques. This series started with accurate piecing, sewing on the bias, sewing curves and circles, paper piecing, improvisional patchwork…. I.e. a lot to learn with each new block. That is why I took part. Each block is “individual”, a one of a kind. All blocks have excellent documentation. Detailed description of materials needed, templates, cutting instructions, sewing steps and techniques.
Some blocks need a lot of patience and a seam ripper. Cutting and sewing skills come handy. Up to now, I have put together five blocks. Five more are on the table and ready to work on. But I have set one block aside, one day I will work on it (maybe?). Not my favourite one at the moment.
Here are my Summer Sampler 2019 blocks #1 – #5:
So, I’ll be back to the sewing machine and get the remaining blocks pieced!
Happy quilting!

Patti, thanks for visting!
I have used Kona Solids for the blocks, don’t know all the color names, but here the ones I know:
turquoise : Azure; blue : Surf; orange : Kumquat and Coral, pinks : Bright Pink, Pomegranate and Petal.
The green shades I had on stock without a name label.
Grey background : SIlver
