Before flying to Prague over the weekend, I have made a quilted grey cushion cover as a Christmas present for my Mum. The pattern is Santa Fe from the Fat Quarter Shop blog.
I must admit, that it was a mistake to choose at late night the fabrics for this cushion cover. The light grey fabric for the middle half-square triangles doesn’t have enough contrast to the white fabric.
Well, there is always something new to learn with each new quilting project.
I like the pattern and will make some more next year. But will be more careful with the colours and intensity of each hue.
On the following two photos you can se the optical difference when the cushion cover is moved 90°. The cushion cover is 20″ x 20″.
Quilted in straight lines using the walking foot.
Cushion cover size : 20″ x 20″ with an envelope closure
Quilting thread : Aurifil Mako 40/2 color 2600
Wishing all a Merry Christmas and a very happy year 2020! And looking forward to new quilting a sewing projects!
