Merci, I will keep practicing…and using. I will probably drive my family crazy, but it will be fun for me! Your teacher probably wasn’t very good, you obviously have talent for languages.

No special reason. I just love languages and find it amazing that people from all over the world speak my language (English) and Americans are not required to learn any other languages and many can barely speak the one they grew up with. I compliment you on your skill and proficiency in your many languages. I learned French in school, but with very little to no opportunity to practice it, I have lost most of it. I recently followed a French blog just so I could practice translating again. I haven’t gotten very far.

Thanks for your compliment. Well, I love speaking and using the languages I know. I also started to learn French a long time ago, but my teacher told me directly that I have no talent. That was the end to my French just after 3 lessons. But I still like to listen to it, it has such a nice rhythm. As you are writing, the most important part is to practice the language, otherwise we forget everything very quickly.

Now to your question: I hardly use my native language (which is Czech); to write the blog posts I think in German (my husband is German and I lived a long time in Germany) and than I try to write down my thoughts in English. The other languages I speak are Spanish (living in Spain) and Russian (my Granny was from Siberia). Is there a special reason why you ask?
