Easter Break

Time is flying so fast. It has been now over 3 months since I visited my parents. My luggage is already packed and I am off to Prague tomorrow early morning. I shall visit the 6th Prague Patchwork Meeting that is held over this weekend. I am looking forward to see lots of displayed quilts (for inspiration) and visit all the shops. My goal is to buy only quilting and piecing threads. Lets wait and see what kind off stuff I bring back!!

My teacher Loles is organising a small patchwork exhibition in Almoradi (my next village) on the 20th April. I am taking part and I wanted to display the Rock Around the Clock Quilt. But as I have sold it, I have to finish the Abstract Dreams Quilt fairly quickly. Well, I shall have time over the long Easter weekend as we have 2 days off.

That’s all for now, happy sewing, Barb

Rock Around the Clock Quilt is Finished !!!!

Instead of writing a long post I shall just upload a few photos of the quilt:

This quilt is now listed on my Etsy and Dawanda shops. This one is SOLD!!

Thanks for stopping, Barb

Finally Quilted and Waiting for Binding

Yesterday was the day I decided that waiting longer to quilt the “Rock Around the Clock” sandwich will not make it any better.  My hands felt a bit stiff (since a few weeks I did not have time to work on my patchwork projects), but my mind was longing to start. I decided once more for a free-motion pattern with my variation of meanders. Starting to quilt a larger piece felt a bit awesome in the beginning, but after a while I got into the right  mood. I have finished the entire top in something over 3 hours. I also have managed to prepare the binding strips. So binding the quilt is my goal for today.

Here a small preview of the quilting pattern:

Gone binding, enjoy your day!

My Very First PDF Tutorial is Here –

Lost in Space Pillow

It has been some time since my last post. I did not have time to work on my quilt as I have started designing some tutorials in pdf.

I was playing with the design, how to place photos and text on a sheet. My very first pdf tutorial is now finished and I am working on the next one – a log cabin tutorial of my Abstract Dreaming Quilt. My next goal is to finish the quilt, take photos for the tutorial, revise and publish it. This is easier said as done or quicker said as done.

Please have a look on the tutorial and leave a comment if you like it (or not).
