knitting and quilting

A few weeks ago I picked up the knitting needles (after 30 years of absence in the knitting world) and started to test my skills. Well, the easiest way is to make some small projects – like shawls or scarfs and so I did. Somehow it feels funny to put on shawl when we have 28°C in the sun. But winter will come sooner or later. Also a photo of my “favorite” shop at the moment.

Not only knitting was on my agenda, but also some quilting. I was asked to make a sample of a Lone Star block. The result was not as good as I expected it – a bit too crooked for my taste. I suppose I have to practice more precise piecing.

And my last project over the last few weeks is another quilt for Joan : Lilac Drunkard’s Path. Once more a quilt as you go. I have all 9 blocks pieced, 5 are in lilac and 4 in orange/red hues, each block is 28″ square.

We have spent a wonderful day in Alicante, just wandering through the city and marina, eating some tapas and enjoying an ice cream.

Thanks for stopping, enjoy the rest of your weekend and happy quilting, Barbora
