charles bridge, prague, november 2018

When I went to Prague a few weeks ago, I passed over the Charles Bridge on a wonderful sunny autumn morning. The light was incredible and there were hardly any tourists on the Charles Bridge, I just had to take a few photos. Here a selection of my favorite ones :

prague august 2018

Since we had company holidays in August and the office was closed, this gave me the opportunity to visit my mother – especially as I found a direct flight from Murcia airport to Prague. Unfortunately only during the summer months. For the winter season it means waiting at airports for connecting flights.

This time I would like to share with you some great sites in Prague that were built in the 1930’s. All are in functionalism style. Below Palace Ara, also called Palace Pearl.

Some hidden treasures in Prague are the many passages under office buildings connecting streets. Below the passage next to the National Bank – today called the Passage of Czech Design. Many Czech designers exhibit their work in showcases on both sides of this passage.

The next passage is called Black Rose and is situated on the street Na Prikopech near Wenceslas Square. Here you can find many shops, diverse coffee shops and benches where you can just sit down and relax from sightseeing or shopping.

After sightseeing you need something good for the tummy : a visit to a coffee shop – for example La Boheme Cafe. Here you can not only enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea, but also purchase coffee and tea from small producers.

Or Erhartova Cukrarna – cakes and confectionery shop – with exquisite cakes and coffee

Autumn is slowly coming and the berries get their wonderful colors.

And as last I would like got show you one more place in Prague – the Malvazinky cemetery. Situated on a hill in the district of Prague 5. When you enter the cemetery you can feel the tranquility of the place, with many tall old trees and ivy plants on the ground.
