My first finish of 2016! Actually I started working on this quilt at least 2 years ago. I pieced the blocks and somehow I was´t happy with the colors. So I put the blocks deep back into my patchwork storage and forgot about them. The other day I was looking through my fabrics and dreaming of my new quilting adventures when I got across the “lost” blocks. And I remembered my resolution from last year : finish all UFO´s before starting new things!
So I pieced the quilt top together, opened a new packet of my favorite wadding : Quilters Dream Cotton – in select natural quality.
As the pattern is very straight forward I have decided to quilt it with wavy lines using the walking foot. Thread : Superior Threads King Tut #40/3 variegated color no. 961 canaan.
And the backing :
The binding is in bright fuchsia :

Yeah, I like it now. The photos are bit dull, no sun today.

Finding surprises is such fun! I hope you like it better now that it is quilted. Sometimes that really changes my perspective. I like it a lot, and the bright binding is perfect for it.
