Prague in winter

Prague in winter, a magical city? Yes, I have been in Prague over the Christmas to celebrate the holidays with my mum. As soon as I arrived home, my mum had some health problems and I could not leave her alone. Since end of December I have done some travelling between Alicante and Prague. My mum is fine now, everything is back to normal and I am very grateful for that.

Prague in winter can have a magical spell. If you forget the snow, ice and frost, it can be very romantic. During all of my visits we had temperatures just bellow zero, so no chance for the snow to melt. I have experienced streets and pavements covered with a solid layer of ice. The Prague city center is always without these problems, but my mum lives in a quiet residential area and snow or are not cleaned on a daily base. No comparison to the climate near Alicante.

Today I want to share with you some “grey in grey” impressions from a foggy winter day Prague. The sun was hidden behind the clouds, no chance to see blue skies.
