Finally quilted this Modern Sampler quilt during the corona lockdown. I have written about making the quilt top in my earlier post – here. Pattern is by Emily Dennis from her book Modern Quilts.
The corona virus has taught me : slow down and use well the extra time for hobbies. Our office got shut down two weeks in April, since then we have reopened. First without public entering, only telephone and email contacts. And this work I can do also from home office. Litle by little is the Spanish government releasing the lockdown in four phases. End of June we could be back to a “new normal”.
Lets talk about the quilt : cheerful solids on a white background. The Modern Sampler quilts consists of 12 different blocks.
My first quilt with a Kaffe Fassett extra wide backing fabric. Precious colors that reflect the colors in the quilt.
Quilting is with the walking foot. This time it is stitch number 16 on the Bernina, an extra wide zigzag stitch.
I have opted to use the same binding fabric as for the backing.
Quilt size : 56″ x 67″
Wadding : Warm & White – 87,5/12,5 bleached cotton/ polypropylene
Quilting thread : Mettler Quilting 40 – color natural
Stay safe and happy quilting
