visit to kutna hora, czech republic

Last friday my mum and me went for a day trip to the town of Kutna Hora, about 60 miles east of Prague. The day was full of discoveries, magic places and history. The originally gothic Cathedral of St. Barbara :

A short walk to the historical town centre passing the Jesuit College and a wonderful view of the church of St. James. Next to the statues there is a vineyard. We we lucky with the weather, it was a sunny day until we went back. Prague welcomed us with heavy rain and storm.

Even though I left Prague many, many years ago, it is still my favorite city and I always love to come back, Walk through the historic quarters, visit cultural events and meet friends. So why write to many words – here some photos :

Moldau river in the front, Kampa Park behind and Petrin Park on the hill with a small copy of the Eifel Tower build right at the top. A few impressions of the Lesser Town (Mala Strana) situated under the Prague Castle.

I have taken last photos in the passage of Adria Palace which is on the Corner of Narodni and Jungmanova streets.

I am enjoying the time with my Mum and quilting can wait. The weather in Prague is very warm for this time of the year and we have had a lot of sunshine.

my dog and living in civilization

I am still taking some time of from quilting to get my brand new toy (mac and ipad) into the right shape. Nevertheless I do go dog walking every morning. Sometimes I see motifs that I want to capture with my camera. My dog is always a favorite :

The other morning I took a look around myself and I saw all the things that come with a modern life : masts for electricity cables or mobile phone antennas and graffiti. This all is part of our lives, the price we pay for civilization and communication. The landscapes change, more and more man-made elements take over the nature.

But I love the area where we live – it is near the Mediterranean sea, with mild climate in the winter, hardly any industry with pollution and 3 bigger cities half an hour away by car.

welcome 2014

After holidays and a few computer and internet free days I have finally started with a new quilt. Actually this one I wanted to make last summer, but never found the time. All bits are cut out and I have started piecing. More in next post.

On New Years Day we made a short trip to Mar Menor in the Murcia region, visited San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagan. The weather was sunny and we had a wonderful piece of cake and coffee on a café terrace.

Time is rushing and the festive season is nearly knocking on the door. Another year closes and 2014 is already waiting for us impatiently. A big thank to my followers and visitors for all the cheerful comments and likes.

I would like to share with you a few nativity scenes photos. As every year in Spain big nativity scenes are on display on the main squares of villages or cities. Last weekend we went to see our local nativity and this time I had at least my iphone with me.
