visiting prague and some new stash

This week I am in Prague where I am visiting my parents. The weather is very different to the one we had in Spain, i.e. hot and sunny. Here we have it all – hot and cold, sun and rain. Anyway, the parks are nice and green, a lot of flowers in blossom. Restaurants and cafes have the chairs outside and it is always a pleasure to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on the terrace.

This is newly opened restaurant just around the corner from my parents.

I have also spent some  money on quilting threads and fabrics. Here the first lot I got :

There are more fabrics in my wonder basket, mostly solids. But the photos I took today were not good – because of the rainy weather we have at the moment, everything is just too dull. And my internet connection is slow and I have no patience to wait so long for an upload.

Till next time, Barbora

Easter Break

Time is flying so fast. It has been now over 3 months since I visited my parents. My luggage is already packed and I am off to Prague tomorrow early morning. I shall visit the 6th Prague Patchwork Meeting that is held over this weekend. I am looking forward to see lots of displayed quilts (for inspiration) and visit all the shops. My goal is to buy only quilting and piecing threads. Lets wait and see what kind off stuff I bring back!!

My teacher Loles is organising a small patchwork exhibition in Almoradi (my next village) on the 20th April. I am taking part and I wanted to display the Rock Around the Clock Quilt. But as I have sold it, I have to finish the Abstract Dreams Quilt fairly quickly. Well, I shall have time over the long Easter weekend as we have 2 days off.

That’s all for now, happy sewing, Barb

Praguer Patchwork Inspirations

Since coming back from Prague I did not dedicate much time to patchwork and quilting. The Rock Around the Clock top is finished and I want to work on it, pin it and go on with quilting. Lets put it this way: it is my goal for the weekend. The past 2 weeks we  orientated on the holiday season and cooking more than usually, relaxing on the terrace with an excellent book and enjoying the wonderful weather we have.

Prague has some inspirational pavements. I took pictures of the different patterns in the city and it is amazing what layouts can be done using just 2 colours.

Friday is a holiday, so looking forward to a long patchwork weekend!! Happy sewing everyone, Barbora
